Oral presentations are often scored separately from your written proposal, and the deck has to look finished. Many users find it helpful to have GovEagle generate a full slide rather than just the words that go on it. This article walks through that workflow: you ask the GovEagle PowerPoint Add-In to produce a complete slide as an editable image, download it, place it on your slide, and convert it into native PowerPoint shapes you can keep editing.
This builds on the PowerPoint Add-In. For instructions on installing and opening the add-in, see Authoring Workspace Overview.
Creating a Full Slide
Open a template or blank slide deck
Open the GovEagle PowerPoint Add-In
Turn on Generate SVG Images in chat settings (see Chat Settings)
Ask GovEagle to create a slide as an SVG and describe what the slide should look like. You can first ask it to plan each slide, then generate them one at a time (see Planning the Deck First below)
Below the image in the chat transcript, select Insert into document
Expand the image to take up the entire slide. To edit the inserted image using PowerPoint tools, right-click on it and select Convert to Shape
You now have a fully designed, editable slide
Planning the Deck First
Slides come out better when GovEagle knows what the whole deck is supposed to do before it designs any one page. Ask for the plan first, confirm it, then generate slides against it.
Example prompts:
"Create an outline for a 20-minute orals presentation addressing evaluation criteria M.1 through M.3. Include slide topics, key messages, and suggested timing for each section."
"For each slide in that outline, describe the layout and the content that should appear on it."
"Now create slide 3 as a full editable image."
For more on structuring requests, see the Prompting Guide. For orals-specific prompt examples, see Common PowerPoint Add-In Use Cases.
Working from a Branded Template
You can start from a blank deck or from your own template. If you're using a branded PowerPoint template with predefined layouts and styles, GovEagle can help populate it with content — see Working with Templates. Because the converted slide is made of normal PowerPoint shapes, you can also bring it in line with your template after the fact by restyling those shapes.
Tips
Specify Slide Count and Timing If you're creating an orals deck with time constraints, tell GovEagle the total number of slides and presentation duration so it can help you allocate content appropriately.
Generate One Slide at a Time Working slide by slide against an approved outline makes it easier to review each design and re-request the ones that miss.
Review Before You Build On It Presentation messaging is critical to your proposal story. Always review AI-generated content before committing it to your deck.
Reference Evaluation Criteria Align slide content with specific evaluation criteria from Section M to ensure your presentation addresses what evaluators will score.
Troubleshooting
The slide won't convert into editable shapes: Confirm the “Generate SVG images” toggle was on before you generated the image. With it off, GovEagle returns a non-editable image, and there is nothing for “Convert to Shape” to break apart. Turn the toggle on and regenerate the slide.
The design doesn't match your template layout: After converting, manually adjust the shapes and text boxes to match your template's design. PowerPoint templates have more visual variation than Word, so some manual formatting is expected.
Missing opportunity context: Verify that solicitation documents are uploaded and that you've selected the correct opportunity in the dropdown. See Adding Context for an Opportunity.
