Opportunity Search and Saved Searches Overview
Opportunity Search is currently in beta and is designed to help users explore federal opportunities. GovEagle ingests these opportunities daily from SAM.gov, enabling users to save search criteria that are important for their businesses. Users can receive email digests of new matches based on their saved searches.
Accessing the Opportunity Search Landing Page
Users can access the Opportunity Search from the sidebar. The landing page features two main sections:
All Opportunities: Users can browse the full corpus of ingested opportunities.
Your Saved Searches: This section displays each saved search as a card, including a summary of its criteria such as NAICS, PSC, set-asides, and keywords.
From each saved search card, users have the following options:
Open the card to view current matching results.
Edit the search criteria.
Star the search to pin it as a favorite.
Archive the search when it is no longer active for potential restoration later.

Delete the search.
Creating a Saved Search
To create a saved search, users should first access the home page and click into ‘Browse all {x} opportunities’.

Then, they should apply all the filters they want to include on the left side. Afterwards, they should click the button ‘Save as search’. This will pull those filters into the form. However, if they want to override this, that process would involve a few steps:
Provide a name for the saved search.
Set criteria using the available filters, which include:
NAICS codes
PSC codes
Set-aside types (e.g., small business, 8(a), SDVOSB).
Place of performance (states).
Notice types (e.g., solicitation, presolicitation, sources sought).
Posted date range and response due date range.
Keywords where they can include and exclude terms.
Save the search. GovEagle will run its matching pipeline against the corpus, ensuring that new opportunities match the saved search criteria daily.

To see more opportunities besides just the current batch, you can select a date range to see opportunities pulled during that time period.

Search Evaluation Criteria
When evaluating opportunities for a saved search, GovEagle considers the saved search filters, the selected company profile(s), and the content library defined by the chosen content scope.
The process begins with an initial scan across available opportunities, analyzing the opportunity title and a portion of the description to determine potential relevance. Based on this assessment, GovEagle performs targeted searches across the selected content library to identify relevant past performance examples, capability statements, and other supporting materials. This information supplements the context provided by the selected company profile(s), allowing GovEagle to develop a more complete understanding of your organization's qualifications and experience.
For opportunities that appear promising, GovEagle typically performs a deeper analysis by reviewing additional opportunity details, including solicitation attachments and more comprehensive opportunity descriptions. This enables a more informed assessment of fit and pursuit potential.
The following table outlines the primary factors that influence opportunity matching and the adjustments you can make to improve results:
If You Want To Improve... | Update This | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
The types of opportunities being evaluated | Saved Search Filters | Saved search filters determine which opportunities GovEagle considers for analysis. |
How GovEagle understands your organization | Company Profiles | Company profiles provide context about your capabilities, experience, qualifications, and strategic priorities. |
The supporting evidence used during matching | Content Scope | The content scope determines which folders and documents GovEagle can search for relevant past performance and capability information. |
Separation between different business units or entities | Company Profiles and Content Scope | Creating dedicated company profiles and content scopes for different entities allows GovEagle to apply more targeted context during analysis. |
The quality of supporting documentation | Content Library | Up-to-date past performance examples, capability statements, proposal materials, and other corporate knowledge help GovEagle make more accurate matching decisions. |
If you are not satisfied with the opportunities being evaluated, consider updating your saved search filters. If the opportunity matching analysis does not accurately reflect your organization's capabilities, experience, or priorities, consider updating the associated company profiles. Creating more focused saved searches and associating them with specific company profiles can often improve matches.
Additionally, reviewing and refining the selected content scope can help ensure GovEagle uses the most relevant supporting materials during its analysis. For organizations with multiple business units, subsidiaries, or lines of business, separating content into dedicated folders and scopes can further improve matching accuracy by preventing unrelated information from influencing results.
In the sections below, we will walk through a simple method for updating company profiles using the feedback feature.

Email Digests Configuration
Email digests deliver new matching opportunities directly to users’ inboxes on a set schedule. The configuration process involves the following steps:
Navigate to Settings → Email Digest (or configure from the Opportunity Search area).
Create a digest and choose which saved searches to combine.
Select recipients, which can include individual users and/or groups.
Optionally preview the digest before saving or send it manually for testing.
These digests are organized per organization, and each can combine multiple saved searches into a single email.
